Top Democratic Governors Secretly Preparing to Run For President in 2024

Biden’s nosediving approval ratings are urging many Democrats to prepare themselves for the 2024 presidential election.

California Governor Gavin Newsom and Illinois Governor J.B Pritzker are trying to raise their national profiles to announce presidential runs after the November midterm elections.

Two Democratic Governors Ready to Run in 2024

Although both Pritzker and Newsom indicated they will not mount a primary challenge to President Biden if he decides to run for a second term, both of them are trying to grab media attention these days.

Newsom is doing publicity stunts by trolling two potential Republican presidential candidates, Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida and Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas.

The California governor’s reliance on launching smear campaigns against potential GOP candidates suggests he is expecting to run a presidential campaign against them.

Politicians usually do not spend their campaign funds against governors of other states who are not their competition.

Similarly, Pritzker recently tried to take aim at Republican leadership during Florida Democrats’ annual Leadership Blue Gala. According to him, Republicans are “naked and afraid” and this fear is driving their politics.

Furthermore, Pritzker was a keynote speaker at the New Hampshire Democrat Party’s annual state convention, which also raised speculation about his ambitions to run for the presidency in 2024.

Fox News even reported that Pritzker secretly met with powerful Democrats of New Hampshire during his visit to the state last month.

An anonymous Democratic strategist told Fox News that Pritzker’s visit to NH depicts “sharks (are) circling the chum,” adding that many potential candidates are “testing the waters” to see the reality before announcing their presidential race.

Democrats Do Not Want Biden in the White House

Both Newsom and Pritzker have also tried to get political mileage on every recent mass shooting and the Supreme Court verdict to restrict abortion access in the Roe v. Wade case.

These pro-abortion, anti-gun campaigns have helped them in making headlines on various important events.

While Biden repeatedly suggests he will seek a second term, different surveys have established most Democrats do not want to see him running for the White House again.

Reportedly, even Democratic strategists believe Biden holds a slim chance of winning the presidency in 2024.

During his recent Middle East trip, Biden noted he “would not be disappointed” to face Donald Trump in the 2024 elections.

Though recent polls are not bringing favorable news for Biden. A poll from the New York Times found that 64% of Democratic voters want to see a different candidate running for president in 2024.

Similarly, a Quinnipiac poll asserted 54% of Democrats want to see new faces in the White House.

Even liberal media outlets are not inclined to back Biden anymore. A recent op-ed in the Washington Post established Biden can save the Democrat Party from 2022 midterm losses by announcing he will retire after his first presidential term.
