The problem with the growing threat from China is not going away any time soon.
The communist juggernaut is building up its army, navy, and full technological capability to spread more and more influence globally and undermine western interests.
Red China is like a storm we can see rolling over the horizon with menacing clouds already building up. Ignoring it is not going to make things better; only preparation and strategic counterbalance will do that.
The latest blip on the China radar comes ahead of a planned visit by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan. 
Pelosi’s Taiwan Trip
Pelosi reportedly has a trip to Taiwan coming up in the next few days.
As Chinese and American navy ships come increasingly close to actually firing on each other in the Taiwan Strait, this is a good time to go and let Beijing know that its bullying won’t be tolerated.
Taiwan, also known as the Republic of China (ROC), split off from the mainland following Mao Zedong’s communist takeover in 1949.
Mao basically took advantage of a corrupt government to stir up and arm peasants against landlords. He then began his murderous and genocidal campaign that eventually seized power from the nationalists led by Chiang Kai-shek.
As Mao and his crew of criminals set to work starving, destroying, and forcing China into communism, Kai-shek and his supporters established their own China on the island of Taiwan, where it remains to this day.
China says Taiwan needs to be “liberated” and brought back under Beijing’s control. America and most of the international community disagree and warned China repeatedly not to step too far and do something it will regret.
Now, Pelosi’s visit is causing Beijing to issue all sorts of threats.

China Holds New Drills
In response to Pelosi’s planned visit, China is holding more naval drills close to Taiwan. Some Taiwanese officials even fear China could actually stage some real military action or invasive maneuver.
Air raid drills have been taking place across Taiwan and getting people prepared in case China does decide to drop the hammer for real this week.
We are living in a very unstable world. Truly anything is possible at this point, particularly under the schizophrenic incoherence of the Biden administration with regard to our foreign policy.
China’s foreign affairs department is specifically threatening “serious consequences” if Pelosi does visit as planned. China’s foreign ministry member, Zhao Lijian, said China is “fully prepared” for Pelosi legitimizing Taiwan with her visit.
He added that “forceful” measures will be taken if Pelosi goes ahead with the visit.
It's a testament to how much the U.S. military's advantage in Asia has eroded that there's so much concern about Speaker Pelosi's proposed trip to Taiwan.
This would be much less of an issue if we hadn't wasted so many years neglecting our deterrent posture in the Indo-Pacific.

The Bottom Line
China has already been getting way too cozy with Taiwan’s shoreline for years now. This trip needs to happen, but the question is why it’s being leaked in the first place.
Our members of Congress and State Department higher-ups often visit Taiwan to make our alliance with them clear.
Pelosi will be the highest-ranking visitor in a long while, but why hype it beforehand?
As for China’s threats, we shouldn’t be afraid, but at the same time, we need to understand China is far more fanatical and dangerous than many realize. We do need to proceed with caution in engaging and containing them.
