The Democrat Party has largely gotten into hot water with parents these days.
Because of the party’s reliance on teachers unions’ donations, Democrats tend to oppose school choice. They also fight policies that would help parents send their kids to charter schools, should the parents decide this is what’s best for their children’s education.
At the same time, even when kids are in public schools, parents are clashing with Democrats who believe it’s OK to show their kids sexually explicit material.
This issue is once again coming to the forefront of conversation, amid a Florida Democrat’s recent remarks about parents, as reported by the Tampa Free Press.
This Won’t End Well
Sen. Tina Polsky, a Florida Democratic lawmaker, raised eyebrows towards the middle of last week when she shared her thoughts on the competency level of parents.
By Polsky’s own admission, it is her view that parents lack the “qualifications” to determine which material is sexually explicit and hence inappropriate for their children.

At the same time, the Florida state senator is also opposing legislation that would have books in kids’ schools be reviewed to ensure they’re age-appropriate.
Polsky furthermore shared her thoughts that sex ed in schools has become too politicized in recent times.
Not a Shocking Statement
Unfortunately, what Polsky said is very much in keeping with today’s Democrat Party and its attitude toward parents and education. After all, Democrats, as a collective, have shown that they don’t believe parents are qualified to determine which schools are best for their kids.

On multiple occasions, Joe Biden contended that children don’t belong to their parents, but instead belong to the community. Last year, the Michigan Democrat Party landed in hot water after claiming that parents are not actually the clients of public schools.
As sad as it may be, the writing is very much on the wall.
