Political unrest is rising in Iran. Protesters started clashing with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) after the death of a woman in police custody. Though the Iranian army has labeled the protests as a conspiracy by the United States and Israel.
Reportedly, violent protesters attacked IRGC’s military base in the city of Oshnavieh in Western Iran. Media reports also claimed violent protests have taken control of some parts of the country after clashing with Iranian security forces.
Violent Uprising in Iran
Iran’s violent protests have now completely grappled almost 140 cities in all 31 provinces of the country. Recently a 22-year-old girl, Mahsa Amini, died in police custody in Iran, allegedly from torture, as she was accused of violating Iran’s strict dress code.
Amini was arrested for wearing a headscarf too loosely. BBC reported that Iranian officials punished her by beating her head with a baton and smashing her head in vehicles.
However, Iranian forces claim the woman did not face any torture and died a natural death, due to a heart attack.

Iranian People Finally Spoke Against Oppressive Regime
According to an official of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), Ali Safavi, the Iranian people have finally spoken against the 43-year rule of oppressive elites who completely plundered the country.
Safavi further added the nature of current protests is completely different from previous uprisings; women are leading the nationwide protests in a highly conservative country.
Likewise, Safavi noted the Iranian government applied violent tactics against women in the last 40 years, as thousands of them were killed for the support of anti-government groups.
Most protesters are young people who were born in the autocratic country; so they are unaware of a peaceful life, Safavi added. The international community, Safavi continued, should immediately stop appeasing Iran and throw its weight behind the protesters.
While Iranian state-controlled media reported 41 people have died in the protests, anti-government groups established that the death toll is touching 150 while more than 5,000 protesters have been arrested.

Meanwhile, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has pledged to curb protests with an iron fist.
Although Raisi indicated that he would investigate Amini’s death, Iran’s interior minister, Ahmad Vahidi, has already concluded that she was not tortured at all.
Vahidi noted that all the medical and forensic reports of Amini have been reviewed and there is no evidence of any torture against Amini.
Amnesty International even found that Iranian forces have launched live ammunition against protesters.
Similarly, the Iranian government has also launched a crackdown on private media and independent journalists, while shutting down the internet access in most parts of the country.
Since Monday, almost 11 journalists have been detained in Iran, as per the data of a US-based media watchdog.
