The former attorney general of the United States, Bill Barr, said China is aiming to take control of the key technologies of the future, hence posing a threat to the United States.
China threatens America with technology
Barr discussed his new memoir in a Fox News Digital interview, in which he warned about the incoming national security challenges of America.
According to him, China is the biggest threat to America, not only militarily, but also due to its technological advancement.
Likewise, Barr reminded the Biden administration that people are “accustomed” to America’s excellence in technology, so the Chinese rise can be a threatening thing.
Thus, he recommended the Biden administration must create all opportunities for future generations so the security of the country can be protected.
Currently, China is aiming to master all the state-of-the-art technologies, including the excellence in 5G, robotics, and artificial intelligence, in its bid to pursue an aggressive plan against America, Barr added.

Barr, who served as attorney general in the George H.W. Bush and Donald Trump administrations, once dreamed of being an “expert on China” at a young age.
He mentioned in his memoir he wanted to have a career in intelligence.
As such, he is “becoming an expert on China” to present himself as an attractive candidate for the top intelligence positions. The former top prosecutor also expressed his wish to work as a director of the CIA.
Similarly, Barr added for a long time, Russia remained the biggest adversary of America, so there are a lot of Russian experts out there.
However, expert opinion on China-US rivalry was lacking, so he decided to master this field to make himself stand out.
China propagating misinformation among neighboring countries
According to the latest studies of the US intelligence community, China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea are the biggest threat to the United States in 2022.
Labeling China as a “near-peer competitor,” the study stated China is working hard to change persisting global norms, while threatening its neighbors at the same time.
Not only this, but China has also been empowered after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. This is encouraging the country to adopt an aggressive posture against its neighbor, Taiwan.
In order to achieve this goal, China is imposing its own claims of the territorial and maritime boundaries on its other neighbors as well, to get the upper hand in case of any potential conflict.
As China establishes its hegemony in the region, it is looking forward to increasing its military presence in the South China Sea to get better control of the contested waters.

Furthermore, the Asian giant is advancing its cyber technology at an unprecedented pace, which it would eventually use to suppress American web infrastructure, the report added.
When Russian hackers started attacking American cyberspace, it became a common perception that prevailing vulnerabilities can also be exploited by other countries, especially China.
