Anti-woke entrepreneur and 2024 Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has come up with his own solution to dissuade China from its intentions to invade and conquer informal US ally Taiwan.
This solution is namely arming the Taiwanese based on an equivalent of Americans’ Second Amendment Rights.

Ramaswamy is presently one of the several official candidates for the 2024 GOP nomination.
While Ramaswamy polls at about 1% support among likely GOP primary voters, he has been campaigning stubbornly, building upon his previous anti-woke speeches and writings.
Speaking at the National Rifle Association at the end of last week, Ramaswamy said the Taiwanese people should be allowed and encouraged to bear arms the way Americans do, as per their constitutional rights under the Second Amendment.
The GOP candidate was referring to the long-standing threat of China to “reunite” Taiwan with itself by force.
Since Chinese nationalists lost the civil war in 1949 to Mao Zedong’s Communists and fled to Taiwan, the island has been the home of the democratic, pro-Western Republic of China – as opposed to the mainland “People’s Republic of China.”
Communist China’s dictator Xi Jinping, who has been in power since 2012, is hyping nationalist sentiment and threatening to take Taiwan – a republic of 23 million people – by force to “unite” China’s historic territories.
Here’s how we protect Taiwan without going to war with China: open a branch of the @NRA in Taiwan, put an AR-15 in the hands of every family, and train them how to use it. That’ll give Xi Jinping a taste of American exceptionalism. pic.twitter.com/FQn58GrucX

How to Defend Taiwan Like ‘Actual Americans’
For decades now, the United States refused to say whether it would defend Taiwan. Expectations are that the US military would intervene in any Chinese invasion of the island, as conquering it would benefit greatly the mainland communist empire.
According to Ramaswamy, the best way to defend Taiwan from a Chinese invasion would be to “put a gun” in every single Taiwanese household, thus empowering the people of the island to defend themselves.
Ramaswamy said the NRA should open a branch in Taiwan to help that happen, the Washington Times reported. He added having a gun and being able to defend oneself meant being an “actual American.”
In his NRA speech comments in Indianapolis, the anti-woke entrepreneur also called for the end of affirmative action based on race and the abolition of the Federal Bureau on Tobacco, Alcohol, Firearms, and Explosives.
